In honour of World Peace Day (September 21st) Transform Ghana held a peace celebration.

On the 23rd September 2016, the Transform Ghana Peace Team once again had an appearance at the Weija Municipality.

We organised a peace talk on the theme: Building Capacity for Peace Among the Youth

This event was held at the Christian Methodist SHS and was heavily attended by both the students and general public. The chairman of the occasion was no one other than the Headmaster of the school, who was represented by his assistant. In attendance were personnel from the Ghana Police Service ACP, Rev. Abraham Annang, ASP Ebenezer Donkor-Philison, Rev. Samuel Oppong, Steven Ackah, Maweuna Adzaxo, Nhyiraba,  Mr. Alex Dosu, Dr. Stephen Nyarko, Mr. Christain Nyarko, musicians and poets from all over the country. Our special guest of honour was hon. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah,  who was represented by his special aid.

All invited guests took their turn to tell the general public and students about the essence of peace and how peace is the foundation of our democracy. Other speakers encouraged the youth to fill their time with meaningful endeavours so much that there won’t be anytime to engage in violence.

The event was crowned by peace songs and an awards ceremony to award the speakers for their time and effort for supporting peace in Ghana. Also, the crowd was entertained by poets and musicians who were all preaching Peace in Ghana.
